Mission Statement
By fostering an encounter with Jesus Christ in God’s Word, in the Sacraments, and in our neighbor, the St. Brendan School Family forms students in the Catholic faith, aids social development, and promotes academic excellence so they may experience the joy of life as a disciple of Christ.
First Week of School!
Morning Drop Off Reminders
Enter ONLY through the back gate off of Clark Street, NOT through the church parking lot.
Exit ONLY through the church parking lot.
Students may be dropped off at the cones. When possible, students should exit out the right side where safety patrol is holding open their door. Parents remain in vehicles. If you need to step out of the vehicle to assist your child in getting out, please park in the parking area in front of the school.
If you are parking, pull all of the way forward over the hopscotch area so that we can create 2 rows of vehicles. We have a number of families parking at the same time and this helps create enough space for everyone. Usually no one should back up to exit the parking area. If there is a car in front of you, please wait a moment for them to return or look to me so I can stop traffic and let you out safely. Thank you for only taking a moment to drop students off so that traffic can continue moving. As you exit the parking area, wait for traffic to be stopped and follow in the line. Cars should never drive around the line to exit.
Please see images below and ask if you have any questions. I'm here to help! Thanks for your efforts in keeping students safe!
Afternoon Pick Up Procedures
Parents, when parking, please pull into the lot and come all of the way forward to fill the open spots first. Cars are to remain parked until I move the cones once all students have been dismissed and had the opportunity to enter their cars. ALL cars in the school lot are to pull forward to exit from the front gate. Please do not drive around to exit the church lot. If you may need extra time to talk with teachers or friends after school, please park in the church lot or in the back school lot so that traffic isn't blocked and other families are waiting for you to return to your vehicle. If you need to leave quickly after dismissal, please park in the church lot so that you can exit and make your destination on time.
Students are to be viewed as they exit school, all students will walk next to the rectory garage and shed to go to the back lot unless they are with a parent. Students are to wait at the shed or in front of school only where they are supervised. Any student PK-1st grade must be with an adult or older sibling to walk past the cones. Students may not play on the playground until 3:30 when all students have been picked up or sent to Kids' Club, even if they are with a parent.
Thank you for your assistance in the dismissal procedures!

The Next Generation of Box Tops is Here!
Eventually the Box Tops program will become digital-only. Participating brands are starting to change their packaging from a traditional Box Tops clip to the new Box Top label.
If you see this label, use the new Box Tops app to scan your receipt. Box Tops are still worth 10¢ each for your school. The app will find participating products purchased at any store and instantly add cash to your school's earnings online.

Protecting God's Children Class
In order to provide a safe environment for children, the Diocese of Jefferson City requires anyone who would like to spend time in the schools volunteering, attending field trips, or eating lunch with their children to complete four tasks:
1. Complete the Protecting God's Children Class and register with Virtus
2. Submit the Code of Conduct form online within the Virtus system
3. Submit a Background Check online within the Virtus system
and 4. Submit a Registry of Child Abuse and Neglect Form mailed to the Diocese
If you are planning on helping at a classroom party, going on a field trip, reading aloud to your child's class, or any other activity, you must attend this class and complete all forms. If you have taken this class in the past, you do not need to attend again, but you do need to make sure your account is active in the Virtus system and make sure you have submitted the three other forms within the last year since there have been updates made. Unsure? Contact the school office and we can look it up!
To begin the process and register for the class, go to www.virtusonline.org, select the Jefferson City Diocese, and register your email address with St. Brendan Parish. The class can be taken online. It takes about 1 1/2 hours and must be completed all at once without stopping. Make sure to complete the forms listed above as well. The school can mail the child abuse and neglect registry form if needed.
Thank you for your patience in help in this process as we work to be compliant with Diocesan policy.
