Kindergarten Corner
Week of April 29 - May3, 2024
Important Information
- We are right in the middle of our alphabet countdown! Each day will represent one letter of the alphabet - some days will be special dress days, while others will have a special snack or activity here at school.
- Monday - I is for ice cream! We will have a special snack today!
- Tuesday - J is for jokes and jump rope! Please bring your favorite joke to share with the class! We will also try jump rope during our playtime today.
- Wednesday - K is for kindness. We will leave nice notes for others in our school.
- Thursday - L is for lollipop! Your child will bring home a special lollipop treat today.
- Friday - M is for movie day! We will watch a movie at school today!
- STAAR testing will take place again on Monday, April 29 for the third through fifth grade students. This means it is a closed campus for the day. We will do our best to help by making sure that we keep super quiet in the hallways all day long!
- Dates for the future:
- Kindergarten field day is on Friday, May 10th from 8:30-10:30.
- Kindergarten graduation will be on Wednesday, May 15 at 9:45.
ABC countdown to summer!
We are in the middle of our end of the year countdown! Please see the schedule for this week above (in the important information section).
Last week for STAAR testing!
There will be STAAR testing taking place on Monday. This also means that we will have a closed campus (no visitors) on Monday, March 29. Kindergarten will do our best to help the big kids by being super quiet in the hallways.
Kindergarten will start our MAP testing from May 6-10. More information about that next week!

- Kindergarten graduation will take place on Wednesday, May 15 at 9:45 in the gym.
What We Are Learning!
Our curriculum this week will focus on…
Math: This week we will review fractions, coins, and begin to work on telling time to the hour.
Science: We will discuss how humans change the environment by throwing things away.
Social Studies: This week, we will explore technology that we use today and how technology has changed over time.
