2023 Infant Toddler Symposium

From birth to age 5, a child's brain develops more than any other time in life and this period is critical for learning and development. Babies are born ready to learn, and their brains develop with repetitive, consistent and familiar everyday routines and practices. Infant and toddler educators play an important role in nurturing children’s healthy brain development.

Join us for a day dedicated to supporting healthy brain development by learning about child development and the importance of building positive relationships, how to respond to each child’s individual needs, and actively engaging each child through everyday activities like playing, reading and being there when he/she feels stress

The Early Development Network (EDN) provides services to children birth through two years of age in all Nebraska School Districts. A concerned parent can contact their local school district to receive a free developmental evaluation to help them determine if their child is delayed in developing skills. When a child is eligible for EDN services, trained professionals will help families (and you) know the best way to help their child grow and learn.

All Nebraska school districts are obligated to provide services beginning at birth for children who meet eligibility criteria and demonstrate a need for early intervention. To make a referral, use the school district contact numbers below:
