Principal Newsletter
From the Desk of Mrs. Riley
October 28, 2021
Dear Parents,
As we come to the close of the month of October, I am continually grateful for the commitment of our faculty, staff and school families as we continue to navigate through many challenges. Every challenge can be seen as a blessing and an opportunity from God for growth. We have certainly grown closer as a school community and continue to advance our mission.
Here are a few school updates and reminders:
- School will be closed tomorrow, Friday, October 29th.
- Our annual Parade of Saints will take place on Monday, November 1st at 1:45 in the Church. Parents of students in Grades 1 - 3 are invited to attend. We ask that you please be seated in the back of Church by 1:45. In keeping with our protocols, only Grades 1 - 3 will be in attendance. Students in the remaining grades will be treated to the parade earlier in the day.
- Our annual Scholastic Book Fair will be held next week. Please see below for important details regarding this year's event.
- Please save the date for our annual Veterans Day Celebration set to take place on Thursday, November 11 at 2:00 PM. This event will be held outdoors and weather permitting. Look for more information and invitations to be sent out next week.
- Several upgrades have been made within the school building since BTSN. New smartpanels have been installed in the Science Lab, Grade 2 classroom and Grade 4 classroom. The roof is set to be replaced this weekend. Finally, the stairwells on both sides of the building leading from C Level to D Level are being painted this weekend for a fresh, clean look.
Thank you for your constant support and prayers for our school. I encourage you to continue to support our work as we advance our mission to provide a transformative education steeped in academics and faith to our deserving students. There is no greater investment for forming our future saints than a Catholic education!
Please carefully review this week's newsletter for many reminders and updates. We thank you for entrusting your children to us and for the sacrifices you make each day to send your child(ren) to Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic School.
God's peace,
Mrs. Barbara Riley
Principal
