TIP OF THE MONTH
In Chapter 2, Lee discusses ways to change your voice to accomplish various goals. For example, LOWER your voice to say key words in a prayer and RAISE your voice when reading a powerful Scripture passage. SLOW your speech to quote Jesus and SPEED UP your speech to build excitement, as appropriate! Regulating your speech using these methods, helps to draw attention to what you want the students to hear and engages their listening ears! Try changing up your voice when teaching your next class and observe how it helps to hold attention during your program!

PASSING THE TORCH: A SEASON OF CELEBRATION FOR MINISTRIES WITH YOUNG ADULTS
These webinars are an opportunity (in part one) to see where the Catholic Church’s ministries with young adults in their late teens, twenties, and thirties have come up to this point and its implications for our work today, and to celebrate the excellent work of the USCCB National Advisory Team on Young Adult Ministry, and (in part two) to see where the Church is going next and what new initiatives and opportunities are on the horizon for this ministerial area, and to preview what is coming soon from the brand new National Institute on Ministry with Young Adults.

Recipients must register online for the ceremony they wish to attend. The registration deadline is Tuesday, January 31.
As a part of the National Eucharistic Revival, there will be a brief period of Eucharistic Adoration to conclude each ceremony. Our office will provide some catechesis on Eucharistic Adoration through the letters sent to recipients, emails sent to families of the recipients ahead of the ceremonies, and during the ceremonies themselves. We kindly ask you prepare the families of your recipients for this special encounter with Christ!
BRING YOUR TEENS TO SOURCE AND SUMMIT!
This is an excellent opportunity to engage your teens in a recommitment to the Eucharist, a better understanding of the Sacrament and to connect them to the wider diocese! Don't hesitate! Please share widely with teens in your parish!

EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS JANUARY 31!
The National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC) is a powerfully unique three-day experience of prayer, community, evangelization, catechesis, service, and empowerment for Catholic teenagers (of high school age) and their adult chaperones. NCYC is the premiere Catholic youth event on a national scale that gathers people from all across America for a life-changing encounter with Christ.
Plans for the Diocese of Rochester's pilgrimage to NCYC 2023 (November 16-18 in Indianapolis, Indiana) were shared during a virtual meeting in November and another meeting in early January. Our NCYC 2023 Portal which contains a lot of information from the meetings and will be updated with new information often. If you missed the meetings, but your parish is interested in attending NCYC 2023, contact Mark at Mark.Capellazzi@dor.org.

UPDATE ON 2023 NCYC NFCYM SCHOLARSHIPS- ANYONE INTERESTED IN BEING CONSIDERED FOR NCYC SCHOLARSHIP MONEY THROUGH NFCYM SHOULD COMPLETE THE APPLICATION AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. SCHOLARSHIP DECISIONS ARE BEING MADE DURING SEVERAL DECISION PERIODS, WITH THE FIRST BEING AT THE END OF FEBRUARY.

RCIA REGISTRATIONS
The registration can be found at: http://events.constantcontact.com/register/event?llr=fh8zfumab&oeidk=a07ejigpnml762e984e. Please note that when you register, you will be directed to a confirmation page and receive a confirmation email. If you do not, this means we did not receive the registration, and you need to try again. Sometimes it is a matter of taking too long and the system timing out. If it continues to be an issue, email me.
An email went out to pastors and my RCIA list, but if you have someone new doing RCIA, please share with them.
CONFIRMATION RETREATS
If you are open to others joining you (with prior notice, obviously), please email Don with dates & times, cost, and who to contact. Our preference would be that coordinators work with coordinators on behalf of parents when scheduling make-up retreats so that everyone is on the same page. Once I have the information, I will put together a list that can be shared.
SPRING 2023 CONFIRMATION SCHEDULE
If you need to make adjustments for individuals who are unable to celebrate on your parish's assigned date, please work through Don. I have already started making these adjustments, and the numbers on any given night have already changed.
