Clear Expectations
We have been getting pretty comfortable in the library as the year progresses. At times we have been a little TOO comfortable. Therefore, I decided it was time to create some very clear expectations so that our limited amount of time together could be as productive as possible. There is a lot to cover! We've got to be a well-oiled machine in here!
Scholastic Book Fair
Our school had a Scholastic Book Fair the first week of November. Students came together to make posters to promote the event. We also held our first annual Potato Book Character contest. The entries were beyond amazing! See for yourself below!

High School Minecraft Author Visit
We were lucky to have high school student and published Minecraft fan fiction author Sean Fay Wolfe join us for an author visit on Thursday, November 20th. He explained the writing process to the students and parents in a way that was easy to understand. He is a very well-spoken, composed and funny young man. We wish him well with his second book which should be coming out soon!
Thanksgiving Bags for Tap-In
Our school has a tradition of creating dinner bags for families in need at Thanksgiving. The families and children of HMS are so generous. Money is collected for turkey vouchers as well as the 50 bags and extras. It is a good time to think about how thankful we are for all we have and try to give back to our community.
