Parenting Corner (Dare to F.A.I.L)
Maybe you’ve noticed that our front marquee sign currently says, “Dream Big & Dare to Fail.” It’s always fun for me to see what Ms. Nottingham comes up with for the sign and I greatly appreciate her willingness to take on that extra task! With that being said, I wish she had made “fail” into an acronym because that’s how we view “failing” at Mountain View. It is merely a First Attempt In Learning and, somewhere along the way, our society decided it was no longer ok to view “failure” that way. We would have never put astronauts in space and my oldest son would never have dunked a basketball if he had decided to never try again after not experiencing success the first time.
With the start of a new calendar year, it’s always a great time for kids and adults to consider their goals moving forward. For both yourself and your child(ren), consider “dreaming big and daring to F.A.I.L.”
Upcoming PTO Meeting
The PTO will have our next monthly meeting at 5:15 in the cafeteria on Thursday, January 19. It is open to everyone with a student here and is a great opportunity to make Mountain View more of a community school. Be sure to follow our PTO on Facebook if you don’t already: https://www.facebook.com/mountainvieweaglespto/

The parent portal is an online portal accessible anywhere on the web that parents can log in to and see all of their children in one place, their grades, assignments, scores, attendance, schedules, and teacher comments for each school your children attend.
Parents need to contact the school to get access information to create an account in PowerSchool.
