A Call for Earbuds

Each year, with the increase of available laptops and technological resources, teachers are incorporating more multi-media and differentiation in their lessons. Coinciding with this is the use of earphones to listen to screencasts and other audio or video. That is why we listed earbuds as a part of the school supply list for all grades. In recent weeks, we have seen a drop off in number of students coming prepared with earbuds. Please make sure that your student has earbuds as part of their other every-day school supplies such as pens/pencils, calculator, etc. We recommend that students store their earbuds in a ziplock bag in ther binder pencil case when they are not in use. Earbuds can be bought inexpensively at dollar discount stores, discount super stores, and most major pharmacies. (Please do not send your student to school with expensive earbuds!) Also, please note that the newest iPhone has earbuds that are not compatible with our laptops.

SAVE THE DATE! We happily anticipate meeting our rising 6th grade parents and guardians and showing off all the many wonderful things to look forward to at Tamanend Middle School.

Who Wants to be Linked in Unity?!

We will have our second L2U on Saturday, January 20th for all interested 7th, 8th and 9th graders who have not been linked before. To receive an invitation to L2U, students (or parents, guardians, teachers) need to fill out a quick nomination form. We will send invitations based on nominations in early January. That means we need nominations before Winter Break.

L2U starts at 8:30 and ends at 11 a.m. Being that it is an action and learning packed two-and-a half hours, students must commit to attending the entire session (no leaving early). Participation is free and student participants get a L2U t-shirt at the end.

Nominate a TMS Student for Boomerang Recognition

CB Cares Educational Foundation recognizes and supports the students of Central Bucks School District for living by the 40 Developmental Assets. This month's asset is #38 Self-Esteem: Young person demonstrates a confidence that promotes positive behaviors and relationships. He/she is proud to be the person that they are, and they serve as a role model to others because of their healthy self-confidence. Anyone can nominate a Tamanend student. Parents/Guardians, grandparents, neighbors, siblings, friends... the more students nominated, the more there is to celebrate!

Please click here to submit your Boomerang nomination. Nominations are due this Monday, December 18.

Yearbook Online Discounts

From now until December 31st the price for yearbooks is 37.50, after that it will be $40. To take advantage of the early-bird online yearbook specials, click here.

Rainy/Snowy Day Traffic

On rainy and snowy days, we create our own traffic with an increase of students who become carriders. Please allow your student to ride the bus if they are a regular bus rider. A good compromise that won't cause school traffic and lateness to work and school is to drive your student to the bus stop. If you do drive your student to school, please follow the car drop off pattern shared here.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Tamanend Parent Council

Thursday, Jan. 18th 2018 at 9am

1492 Stuckert Road

Warrington, PA

Parent Council is an open meeting where all parents are welcome to attend to learn more about Tamanend Middle School. Parent Council typically meets on the third Thursday of each month at 9 a.m. There is no obligation to attend all Parent Councils and there are no elected positions. Parent Council is a forum for parents and school leaders to learn from and with each other, together.

At this month's Parent Council, we will observe Mr. Drake's INT class, learn about KAD Day, give a shout out for L2U, and discuss why formative assessment and innovation go hand-in-hand. Save the date!

RSVPs are enabled for this event.
