Cumbia
The Cumbia is not known for sure but they do know African descendants brought it to Columbia. The music and dance comes from the days of slavery and is derived from the African word cumbe which means dance. The dance is similar to the salsa and uses guitars, accordions, bass guitars, and percussion for the music.
The Cumbia dance steps follow of the beats, which is 4/4.
The Cumbia dance originated as a dance of courtship where young men and women dressed up mostly in white.
The attire today is much brighter with shades of vibrant colors in it.
