As part of Open House on May 10, we're hopeful that you take a moment to honor our staff through Appreciation Station. Each staff member will have a labeled bag arranged on tables outside of the music and art rooms. Would you consider dropping a kind word in the bag of a staff member (or two or seven!) that clearly would appreciate your thoughts? Pens and paper will be available on Open House as well. We're ever so thankful for your support.

Book Fair Coming to Salford Hills

The book fair is coming to Salford Hills tomorrow, May 10th! The book fair will be open from 8:30am – 7:00pm. We are still looking for volunteers to help out with all aspects of the book fair. If you would like to volunteer or see when your child’s class is shopping, please click here.

Caregivers are welcome to come in and shop with their child. If you would like to visit our online book fair or set up an e-wallet for your child (a digital payment option for the book fair) please click here. Thank you!

Mother's Day Plant Sale

We're excited to announce our annual Mother's Day Plant Sale, being held in the cafeteria during Open House. Everything is "cash & carry", and you can pay by check or cash. All proceeds benefit our Salford Hills C.R.O.P.S. garden, which in turn, benefits Keystone Opportunity Center. Remember to drop into the cafeteria to pick out some plants for moms and grandmoms, or just treat yourself. You can't "BEET" our prices & selection!'

Elementary School Improvement Survey

Parents of Students Currently in Grades K-5: To continuously improve our elementary schools, we need data regarding students’, teachers’ and parents’ perceptions of the school year coming to a close. Accordingly, students will be taking their school improvement surveys in May. We ask all elementary school parents to take the end-of-the-year Elementary School Parent Survey available in electronic format. The information gained from the survey will help our elementary schools set goals to improve the educational experience for the students. Please use the link below to access the survey:

Please complete your survey by Friday, May 18th, 2018.

Brief Technology Use Survey

We are reaching out to ask you to take part in our school district questionnaire. Your participation is essential in helping us form a more complete picture of technology use for learning in our students’ lives. Please know that all of your responses will remain anonymous to protect your privacy and they will help your child's school choose the right technology for their classrooms. It will take approximately 5 minutes to complete.

The last day to complete this questionnaire is Friday, May 11th.

*For parents with multiple children, please complete one survey for each child

Thank you for taking part in this important initiative!

Kind Parents Help Our Gardens Grow!

Thanks to to generosity of a few Salford Hills parents two gardens look better than ever. The front garden is a welcome sight for all who arrive at our school. In the back, the CROPS garden is ready for planting with the help of Daniels and the labor of a few energetic souls who tilled. We're so appreciative!

And speaking of gardens, thanks to the Girls on the Run who planted flowers for their service project, sprucing up our front steps. Looks great!

Young Hacks Academy

Looking for summer camps for your child? Well look no farther! Young Hacks Academy is a summer camp that uses technology to develop real-world leadership skills. Blending computer programming, problem solving, and teamwork, YHA teaches kids to build cool video games and interactive projects about big challenges facing the world today. As serious as we are about exploring tech, YHA is also committed to having fun away from the screen, moving campers outside each day for unplugged games. The YHA is being hosted by Souderton Area School District Community Education and it will offer four camps: Agent Training, Beta Masters, Internet of Things, and Team Elektra (specifically geared toward girls ages 10-14).

For more information, please see the Young Hacks Academy flyer here: To access the full Summer Adventure Brochure, including registration information, please click here:

Fruit for Field Day Needed

Field Day at Salford Hills will be on Friday May 18. The Home and School association provides the children with an ice-pop snack, and we ask that Parents supply fruit to keep every ones energy level high for this fun day! We are asking Parents to provide one of three fruit choices so that the children have a variety . This year we are serving prewashed individually bagged grapes, presliced and bagged oranges, and sliced watermelon triangles.

Please prepare the fruit to be served in baggies (watermelon may be presliced in a large disposable or well labled container). Once the day gets started there is no time for slicing and dicing!
