Show Hosting - ISSMA Scholastic Finals - Saturday, October 23

Our first hosted event this year is the ISSMA Scholastic Class Marching Band State Finals THIS SATURDAY, October 23. This is the first year we've been given the opportunity to host a marching band competition. FC is known for being an excellent indoor host site, so let's ensure we carry that over to our new outdoor show!

Carrie will go over some final details at our parent meeting on Thursday, so make sure you're there!

The Marching Flashes placed 5th out of 11 bands that competed at the ISSMA Regional Competition on Saturday! Thank you to the many volunteers that helped the band kids reach this pinnacle: chaperones, bus drivers, transportation, spirit, uniforms, props and pit pushers. Thank you to Bobbie Brooks and her assistants for pulling off another successful Senior Night on Friday. Also, we’re grateful that on Friday night the sheets of mist halted for the halftime show and allowed the band to perform an awesome show for the home crowd.

A note about Missed Rehearsals/Performances:

We are asking all parents and students to review the Marching Band commitment agreement again. It is vital that students attend each rehearsal and performance. An absence should be a very rare occurrence as it impacts the entire team. Students that miss rehearsals may not be allowed to attend the next performance due to safety measures or disciplinary reasons.

Color Guard Show Hair:

Due to time constraints on performance day, students need to arrive to rehearsal with some prep work already completed on their hair. The current show hair requires hair to be straightened, slicked back with gel, and put in a high pony tail. We will insert a weave after practice.
