Cohabitating Couples
Is your partner bad for your health?
Excessive reassurance-seeking (ERS)
A study seeking (ERS) found that women who cohabitate with their significant other report having higher (ERS) versus women who who not cohabitate with their significant other. By cohabitating with your partner it creates an anxious attachment. If you really love your significant other, and you are willing to wait until further engagements, please do. Cohabitating with your partner has more negative affects rather than good.
Stronger Love or losing the spark?
The study followed 120 couples between the ages of 17-26 years of age. The participants were surveyed over the phone and were followed for 6-12 months with follow up questions again over the phone. They found that after the follow up, couples who lived together had a strong correlation showing rejection.
How toxic is ERS?
Within the study ERS was shown as being virulent to a relationship, and causes depression from rejection or from an anxious attachment.
Does cohabitation improve your ego?
The study shows that couples who live together become insecure and go from being completely independent to dependent on the other.
