Physical And Chemical Changes
By Austin Leath
Physical Properties
Any characteristic of a material that can be observed or measured without changing the identity of the material.
Examples:
• Color and shape
• Length and mass
• Volume and density (D=M/V
Physical Changes
Changing From one state to another. Solids melt to liquids. And liquids boil to steam.
Examples:
• Slicing bread
• Melting ice
• Mowing the lawn
Chemical Properties
Any characteristic that gives a substance. That undergoes any chemical change.
Examples:
• Flamabillity
• Reacts to oxygen
• Heat and light

Chemical Change
A change in a new identity.
Examples:
• Flamability
• Reacts with oxygen
• Heat and light
• Electricity
