Worship for Sunday, April 19th
Mark 8:27-38 -- Who do you say that I am?
We really miss being able to gather together, but continue to be blessed by the technological resources that are helping us stay connected even while safely self-isolating.
This week, the sermon and worship in music/prayer are included as a single video.
Jesus wanted to start a revolution 2000 years ago...a revolution against every false god the world as ever known. A revolution to turn the world back to the living God we call Father, Son and Holy Spirit. In Matthew's telling of the story, Jesus declares that not even the gates of Hell, much less the coronavirus, can prevail against Jesus' Lordship... In fact, that's the Church's purpose: to declare Jesus' Lordship over heaven and earth.
Today, the risen and triumphant Jesus of Easter's resurrection asks us, "In a world full of Caesars, who do y'all say that I am?"
New Room Watch Night Prayer for Deliverance (from the Covid pandemic) and Revival
Let's be a people of prayer!
(And let's add another layer of prayers for our youth, their families and our teacher's, especially our high school/college seniors, as we have learned that students will not be returning to brick and mortar classrooms this Spring.)
(And, yes, I just LOVE that the frozen image for the video link has captured me with my eyes closed!)
