MEDICATION REMINDERS:
The district’s policy on transportation of medication states that ALL medication shall be brought to the clinic by the parent, legal guardian, or other person having legal control of the student and shall be always secured there. This includes any over the counter medications such as cough drops, Neosporin, Cortaid ointments, or canker sore medication, etc. Medications will at no time be transported by a child in or out of the school. Please be advised, the clinic cannot administer any medication not provided to the clinic by the parent, legal guardian, or other persons having legal control of the student. All medications provided to the clinic must come in its original container, unopened and unexpired. All medications must be FDA approved for acceptance by the Nurse. No herbal formulations (including Ricola cough drop brand) or vitamins will be accepted. If more than a children’s dosage is requested, for example an adult dosage of Advil, a signed MD note must be provided along with the medication. Epi Pens will not be accepted without a corresponding MD signed Emergency Plan.
All prescription medications must be accompanied by a signed physician’s letter, stating name of medication, form of medication to be given, dosage, how often/and at what time it needs to be given, and common side effects. Prescription medication must have the pharmacy label on it with the doctor’s written directions to how to administer and specifically stating a time to be given such as, Mid-day, on or around noon, or at 1:30 etc. If you are planning to leave prescription medication in the clinic that needs to be given multiple times to your child within each school day, the signed physician’s letter MUST also clearly state the exact time the medication dosages can be given apart.
From the library

Please help your children return their library books on their library day. A few reminders for our library policies:
- Students can keep their books for two weeks, if they choose.
- If a book is lost, students will receive a printout with the book title and cost of the book. A note will be included asking for a signature from home with the understanding that you will look for the book. If the book is not found, money will be collected in May.
- For damaged books, money is due at the time of accident.
2nd and 3rd grade students have an author visit coming in February! Drew Brockington will visit us. More information will come soon!
