It's May!!! Time to sign up for my Summer Art Specialty Camps!
I can't believe it's already May. The Art Show was a success and now the art room is gearing up for the end of the year projects. Have you signed up for Summer Camp at Evergreen Academy? I'll be teaching 3 Specialty Art Camps this Summer. If your child loves art and hanging out with Mrs. Lipp, please read the information listed below this month's upcoming projects.
Kindergarten Things That Go!
Transportation is the key for the month of May in Kindergarten. From a real working helicopter made from a strip of paper to designing a their own commercial truck, students will be painting, cutting, stamping, and creating things that go. Printing. Art Elements: Line, Shape, Color.
First Grade Future Inventions
Innovators and inventors, put on your thinking caps. We're going to create robots, cars, and clothes for the future and get a look at futuristic artworks along the way. Art Elements and Principles: Line, Shape, Color, Texture, Contrast, and Pattern.
Second Grade Royal Pooch Painting
Students continue to request a lesson on drawing and painting dogs realistically. Choose a Basset, Cocker Spaniel, or a Bull Dog for the drawing lesson and add a crown to make the dog feel like royalty. Art Elements and Principles: Line, Shape, Color, Texture, Form, and Value.
Third Grade Dreamtime Art
Inspired by the beautifully illustrated book "Dreamtime" Aboriginal Stories by Oodgeroo, this project will involve students drawing an animal of their choice and decorating the background with the iconic dot decorations in the style of Austalian Aborigine Art. Multi-Cultural Art. Art Elements and Principles: Line, Shape, Color, Pattern, Emphasis, and Contrast.
Fourth and Fifth Grades Wanted Posters
Learning to draw portraits is even more fun with this new project guaranteed to bring out the best in each artist. Students will learn how to draw a hat on a human head, then add details to turn this portrait into a WANTED poster, complete with reward and criminal nick name. American History. Art Elements and Principles: Line, Color, Value, Texture, Emphasis, and Unity.
Draw Squad with Mrs. Lipp
Students who sign up for this class get to vote on what they learn! Some students wanted to draw a still life with flowers, others wanted to draw a still life without flowers. The solution? Two still life lessons: One with Sunflowers in a vase and the other with Cherries in a bowl. Artwork by Hana in Fourth Grade.
Discover Drawing with Mrs. Lipp
June 27 - July 1 from 9:AM to 12:PM in the Art Room.
Improve your drawing skills and learn to draw the cartoons you see every day. Learn new techniques with colored pencil, watercolor pencils, oil and chalk pastels, and much, much more. Students will have an opportunity to choose some of the project subjects. Artwork shown is "Yoda" by a Second Grader.
Famous Artists
July 5 - July 8 from 9:AM to 12:PM in the Art Room.
Learn about Famous Artists, Rousseau, Mattisse, Magritte, Rizzi, Picasso, and MORE! Create a masterpiece based on a famous artwork using a variety of mediums (paint, paper, and clay). Artwork shown is Rousseau's "Tiger in a Tropical Storm" by a Third Grader.
Cool Crafts Workshop
July 11 - July 15 from 9:AM to 12:PM in the Art Room.
