A total of $4,369 was raised to benefit the American Heart Association. While the $5,000 goal to slime Ms. Sanducci was not met, she allowed the top fundraisers to pie her in the face with whipped cream.

Youth Month Kick Off
Woodland Park’s annual Youth Month kicked off Tuesday with a visit from Mayor Kazmark to Memorial School. He described the program and its similarities to running for real office to all the eighth graders. Students received descriptions of the jobs they could run for to be elected to by their peers. The students will next give speeches and hold elections. Following the election, students selected will have several opportunities to see their government in action from a tour of the town, to presiding over Municipal Court, a Board of Education meeting, and a Borough Council meeting.

Catching The Bunny
Ms. Tonti’s first grade class at Charles Olbon School wrote a how-to book to teach others how to catch the bunny. Students had an opportunity to make their books come to life by designing their very own traps. The class enjoyed this in-class STEAM session as a part of their spring festival. These children are engineers in the making!
