Answers to Frequently Asked Questions
1) Once a student is referred to FAST, he/she does not become the "FASL's student." The FAST team's primary goal is to support teachers and families. When a student is referred, he/she should still have communications with and from the teacher. Collaboration between the FAST member working with the student and the teacher is imperative. If you do communicate with the student about assignments that need to be completed, please share that information with the FASL.
2) A student cannot be kicked out of LAVCA. Our goal in the FAST team is not to "get rid" of students but rather to offer consistent support and accountability for learning coaches and families who are not fully engaged.
