COMET COMMUNITY
NEWS & UPDATES FROM COVENTRY OAK ELEMENTARY
Our mission is to challenge minds, create lifelong learners, and cultivate kindness through a collaborative community that prepares every child for a successful future.
FROM THE DESK OF SHAMIAH FORD, PRINCIPAL
We are eagerly preparing for our super scholars return to in-person learning. If you are following the weekly communication sent by the district every Tuesday, you will see that the COVID-19 averages are beginning to trend downward. While I can’t guarantee when we will return, I can assure you that COE will be prepared and ready with PPE and safety procedures when the call is made.
Until then, it is imperative that students log in to their classes daily and be active. Logging into the Zoom and then turning the camera and mic off to go do other things is not active engagement. We are committed to our students learning even through a virtual setting, so please assist us with meaningful interactions to move our students forward in their learning. If you need assistance in any way, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Last, if you haven’t already received your child’s report card, it is on the way. Along with the report card, you will receive a Family Assurance of Student Health Agreement form. The form was discussed at our Comet Community meeting and in our In-Person Return Plan. This agreement to monitor your child’s health each day and not send them to school with any symptoms of COVID-19, will need to be signed before they return in-person. Please complete the form and return it to school. You may mail, fax or take a picture and email it to Lisa See or Jose Valle.
Thank you families for all the sacrifices you are making at home. We appreciate your partnership.
Respectfully,
Shamiah Ford
Respetuosamente,
Shamiah Ford
