~ IMPORTANT NOTES ~

FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK

Cambridge School had another great week. Students were busy taking care of each other on our Buddy Bench! They also enjoyed wonderful opportunities to learn and grow.

This coming week we will have a day off of school on Thursday, October 23rd. For those of you celebrating Diwali, we wish you all the best. On this day, faculty and staff will be expanding their learning about new technologies, effective teaching strategies, interventions, and much more. It is always an exciting day which allows our staff to stay current.

Finally, Friday is our annual Cougar Pride Walk-a-Thon! Thank you to those families who have already donated. The PTO has planned a wonderful treat and each child will receive an apple and a bottle of water to promote healthy living. We are looking forward to this great event! Remember: Wear your Cambridge Cougar apparel.

Have a wonderful weekend!

HONOR A TEACHER!!

The VFW sponsors a Teacher of the Year award program. The deadline for nominations is submission by November 1 to the local VFW (ours is Post 9711/VFW Post 9111 and Representative Donald S. Bollinger would assist.)

VFW Teacher of the Year categories: K-5, 6-8 and 9-12. Please consider nominating a teacher from Cambridge! While the deadline is very soon, it would be a great honor for a teacher.

http://www.vfw.org/TeacheroftheYear/

Eligibility: All current classroom teachers in grades K-12 are eligible. Previous state and national VFW winners are ineligible. Nominations can be submitted by fellow teachers, supervisors or other interested individuals (not relatives).

COUGAR COUNCIL - A Student Organization!

COAT DRIVE

The Cougar Council is coordinating a Fall Coat Drive! We will accept gently used coats from October 6th - October 31st. Please send in your old coats!!

SOCKTOBER

We are collecting *NEW* socks, as part of the SOCKTOBER event that will help homeless people across the united states. Please send in *new* socks to support this initiative! We will collect from October 6th - October 31st.

"Every night in the United States an estimated 600,000 people live on the streets. This October, SoulPancake and Kid President want 2 million people to prove that even the smallest acts of love, like donating a pair of socks, can make a big difference in the lives of our neighbors who are homeless."
