Knightly Update May 8, 2022
ACP High School - Edition Vol 1 Issue 38
________________________________________
Happy Mother's Day! I hope you had a nice week and our ACP moms enjoyed the weekend. Thank you for helping to raise such fantastic kids. We have a fun week ahead at ACP. Our final spirit week of the year occurs this week, and our Junior/Senior Prom will be held on Saturday. Details are included in this week's update and I hope our Knights participate. Have fun showing your Knight Pride and I hope our upperclassmen enjoy this year's prom.
I am thrilled to announce that we crowned another individual state tennis champion last week! Sophomore Andrew Yang won the title beating a strong Wilcox HS opponent, 6-2, 7-6. It was an exciting match and it was awesome to see Andrew with the first place medal. Andrew joins fellow state champion Kesin Dolwani ('17) as AIA Division III State Tennis Boys Singles Champion. Congratulations, Andrew.
In addition to winning the single championship, Andrew and his tennis teammates fought their way to the team title match in this year's AIA DIII State Tennis Championship Tournament. The boys played a very talented Phoenix Country Day team and while they played their hearts out, they came up short losing to PCDS, 5-1. Regardless, being a State Runner Up is nothing to be ashamed of and I am very proud of the effort the boys put forward this season. We have a very young team, so the sky is the limit for these talented players. Great job, Knights!
Due to circumstances beyond our control, the date for our Underclass Academic Award Ceremony has changed. We will now be honoring these individuals on Wednesday, May 18th during the day in our school's auditorium. The ceremonies will be livestreamed and videos uploaded to our school's YouTube channel. The purpose of this ceremony is to recognize students who have earned a GPA of 4.0. The Class of 2023 will be recognized at 8:00, the Class of 2024 will be honored at 9:00, and the Class of 2025's ceremony will be at 10:00. Students being recognized for their outstanding GPA will receive notice early next week. Guests are welcome to attend the appropriate ceremony, but seating will be limited. The URL for the livestream will be provided in next week's Knightly Update.
As a reminder, the Class of 2022's Award Night is on May 17th at 6:00 in our school's gym. Families of seniors were asked to RSVP for this event (reference Senior Update). If a student does not RSVP, we will assume they will not be in attendance and plan accordingly. If you have any questions, please email me.
Best of luck to every student slated to take an AP exam this week. I appreciate the effort students' displayed with last week's exams. I know they did their best. Keep it up.
Have a great week. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me. Enjoy your week, and Happy Mother's Day!
Rob Bickes
Principal

An Important Message from ACP Polo Supplier Anton Uniforms
As we gear up for a new school year, we have reflected on the many changes that have happened over the past two years. While we thought that 2021 would be a year that would return us to normal, we learned that there would be limits on inventory, our supply chain, plus challenges in hiring staff. We want to provide all of our families with the level of customer service that you have come to know and expect from Anton Uniforms.
Our priority this year has been to do everything possible to have stock available both in store and online by early summer. We have increased the size of our bulk uniform orders, but there are some items that remain difficult to receive in some sizes and colors. Similar to other companies, we have been fighting for container space on ocean vessels, all the while seeing the prices of raw materials, labor and transportation costs arise. Given all of this, the overall cost of making our uniforms has risen much like everything else. As a result, on June 1, 2022, Anton Uniforms will be raising our prices.
We encourage you to shop NOW for your school Polo needs! Anton Uniforms will offer you a 10% discount on all purchases made now through May 31st, 2022. Not only will you be saving 10%, you will also have additional savings because you will be taking advantage of our current lower pricing. If shopping online, please enter the coupon code 10OFF. If shopping in store, please mention the coupon code to the associate assisting you at checkout.
Anton Uniforms will honor returns/exchanges through the first two weeks from the date school starts. All returns/exchanges must be in new condition, with tags attached, and accompanied by your original sales receipt or packing slip. We know kids grow at different rates, so if they hit a growth spurt and you need a different size, we are here for you and happy to help find the correct size for your student.
Thank you,
Anton Uniforms

Please Make a Tax Credit Donation
If you are able to make your tax contributions early in the year, your donation would be greatly appreciated and give us a jump start on some of our essential extracurricular activities. We have set a goal to collect approximately $50.00 per family for a total of $57,500.00 and hope that you will be willing to help us meet our goal. Thank you for supporting your child and our school!
Tax Credit Basics…
A tax credit donation is a full refund, not a deduction. Contributions eligible for a tax credit are donated directly to schools, not to the state or school district. To participate or learn more, follow the link listed below to donate online or you can complete the enclosed form and submit your contribution at your convenience.
http://www.cusd80.com/taxcredit
Arizona Law ARS 43-1089.01 enables taxpayers a tax credit contribution of up to $400.00 per year if filing status is “Married, filing Joint Return;” $200.00 per calendar year if filing status is “Single of Head of Household;” and $200 per calendar year if filing status is “Married filing separate returns.” These contributions fund extracurricular activities in public schools and greatly impact our school community and our students.
