Google releases Team Drives!
Google's version of a share drive is here! Team Drives are now available to you on our forsythk12.org domain. Learn how to set-up Team Drives here. I have already created team drives for each grade level. You can add additional members if they request to be added. You will only see team drives if you are a member. Other team drive ideas: Yearbook, Lighthouse Team, Leadership, etc. Let me know if you have questions!
Google Drive Organization
Time for spring cleaning of your digital files!
- Help folders stand out by changing folder colors. Simply right-click and select Change color.
- You can also drag and drop files to easily move them to a folder or use right-click and select Move To.
- Don't like the list view of files? change it to Grid View for a tiled look.
- I like all uploaded documents to automatically convert to the Google Docs editor. It saves my drive from getting junked up with duplicate files. To do this, go to the Settings gear in the top, right corner and check the box to "Convert Uploads."
Folder colors
Emphasize folders with color. Right click a folder and select change color.
List view vs Grid View
Toggle back and forth between views using this button.
Convert uploads to Docs
Go to Settings gear in top, right corner. Check the box for Convert Uploads. Click Done.
DOGO News
DOGO News allows you to find timely news articles at the appropriate level for your students. Teachers can sign up for a FREE account and create classes, join students, and send assignments. DOGO News also integrates with Google Classroom. Students can read articles without joining a class, but teachers will not have access to the accompanying activities and comprehension questions using only the free account. Lesson plan suggestions are provided for each article based on the Common Core Standards and students may select the Word Search feature in order to preview and practice vocabulary for a particular article. Select the speaker icon to hear the article read aloud by one of several automated voices. Copy the HTML code in order to embed the article into an itslearning page, note, test, or assignment. You can also check out the Books and Movies tabs for student created book and movie reviews.
