Hurrah! Raptor Has Arrived in the South Wing!
Research Study for CTE Teachers
You may have received an email from a doctoral student named Candice Artis. She received permission from the school division to ask CTE teachers questions about their profession.
Participation is completely voluntary, but I encourage you to make time in your day to answer her questions. Research about teachers is important--especially when it is about CTE Teachers!
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Ms. Artis via email at cart1038@students.vsu.edu
Message from Department Chair Daghita
Hello everyone,
I just wanted to take a minute to give everyone some updates and information. First off, I want to start with the best news. We will not be having a Thursday meeting this week. Dr. Wynn has told us how well we have been doing on our lesson plans and he wants to give us a break this week. Great job everyone! If you look on your calendar we do have a CTE Department meeting scheduled for Thursday. We are moving that meeting to next Thursday 4/26 as well, so have a great Thursday everyone!
As most of you know, Nurse Browning has been absent and we are not sure when she will return. For now, we have a substitute and a plan for her students. However, there is always a possibility that we will run into a substitute availability issue so please continue to remain open to covering classes. I am happy to say that we have never had a problem with our teamwork, but I was asked to give the reminder :)
Another reminder from admin: Recently there have been a few issues around the school with teacher "professionalism". As we are entering spring and warm weather, our students are starting to "turn up" more than usual. Please remember to remain calm and keep your cool during all situations. Don't hesitate to ask for help or guidance from another teacher, security, or admin.
Finally, if you are going to be absent or late, please text or call me and let me know. We have been running into situations where teachers are absent and substitutes have not committed to the absent requests. While this is not necessarily anyone's fault, this leaves students unattended when we can split them up. I can assure you that this is NOT micromanagement, I simply need to know so that I can split up classes or attempt to find a substitute.
Thanks to you all for the teamwork!
