A few short "Sentence Stems" to start with are placed within range of my students to interact with daily. I have access to them as well. They teach students how to have respectful dialogue with other children during whole class and small group discussions, thus resulting in "Accountable Talk."
Why Accountable Talk?

Purposefully plan for conversation. Brainstorm and co-construct with your students a list of discussion etiquette, norms and behaviours (i.e., waiting your turn, use respectful phrases).
