MCCHS FRIDAY FOCUS
31st Edition: May 5, 2017
Pilgrims on the Way of Truth
This coming week, we celebrate Teachers' Appreciation Week! Think about the teachers or school staff members who have made a positive impact on the lives of your children - and please reach out to them, wherever they are, and let them know! Long after our students graduate, we still root for their successes, cry for them during times of loss or struggle, and always keep them in our prayers. Your children become so much a part of our lives, and we are grateful for every one of our students!
Please consider filling out this Teacher/Staff Appreciation Form (for as many teachers/staff as you'd like!) and we will be THRILLED to share your comments with the teachers throughout the week!

IDEA: Community Businesses and School Collaboration
Come see what IDEA/INCubatorEdu is and how you and your business can get involved
Marian Central Catholic High School is introducing a new course: Innovative Design and Entrepreneurial Application, or IDEA. The course is driven by the INCubatoredu program, which offers students an authentic entrepreneurship experience. Students will develop and test their own product or service startup in an attempt to gain investment funds in a final shark-tank style pitch event.
Real entrepreneurs and business experts serve as volunteer coaches and mentors guiding student teams through the processes of developing hypotheses about a business concept and testing those hypotheses. This cycle of experimentation is combined with foundational business content such as marketing and finance. The businesses students build are real - they are not businesses cases or simulated experiences - which means students experience mistakes, take risks, and learn to pivot based on market needs.
We need YOU, the business professional, to make this happen. Make a difference in your community and join us.
On MAY 17th at 7:00 pm, we are hosting an INFORMATIONAL MEETING for all to join us!
Click on the invite below and join us for this free session! Come be a part of MARIAN HISTORY as we launch this exciting program!
Prom 2017 a HUGE Success!
We have compiled three Google photo categories that we would like to share with you now: Prom Court, Promenade, and the Prom Dance. A special thank you to Jim DeWane and his son for taking amazing candid photos of the dance - you can see just how much fun the students had in every photo! Ms. Kasey Gallagher, English teacher and Newspaper/Yearbook adviser, graciously took the photos of our Promenade. We apologize in advance if a few photos are blurry, as we tried to slow them down as they marched through the "arch"! Please feel free to download or make copies of any of these photos for your personal use. We are happy to be able to provide you this glimpse into a wonderful evening! Mr. DeWane's photo packages of couples are already in our school office and ready for pick-up!
This Prom was unforgettable in many ways - but the best moment would have to be when the entire Junior class voted Tyler Gardner as the Prom King of their class. Mrs. Gardner was there to accept the crown - which was signed by the entire Prom Court. We then crowned the co-King of this wonderful class, Ben Keller. And, with all the pomp that the moment deserves, we crowned our beloved Queen, Lucca Kenyon. Finally, a special song was requested in honor of Tyler, and the entire Junior class formed a huge circle, linked arms, and all sang at the top of their lungs. We have never been more honored to know these fine young adults.

Now Seeking Host Families for International Student!

Through this partnership, we have accepted a student to be a part of the MCCHS community for the 2017-18 academic year. We are currently looking for great family who will welcome this student into their home during the academic year. Attached is a flyer with additional information about becoming a host family. If you are interested, please contact Mike Maloney at mmaloney@marian.com for additional information. Thank you for your consideration.
