4th Grade Update
March Newsletter
Learning Targets
Language Arts: We continue to practice various reading skills through the use of leveled chapter books. We are preparing for the Language Arts AIR assessment. Please continue to encourage to read daily and thoughtfully respond to their reading on their reading logs.
Social Studies: The 4th graders are learning all about their rights and responsibilities as U.S. citizens. We have been studying the First Amendment of the Constitution and they had fun creating skits to illustrate the freedoms that the First Amendment grants us.
Science: We have just completed our unit on energy transfer and had lots of fun building roller coasters, making circuits, studying static electricity and making electromagnets. We are moving into a unit on plants and will be planting seeds in the Frank Nicholas garden later this month!
We were very lucky to have an awesome team of Sinclair dental hygienist students come and teach an engaging lesson about oral hygiene!

Testing Update
This month, 3rd - 5th graders will be taking Ohio's AIR assessments. These tests have replaced last year's PARCC test and the former OAA. We wanted to make you aware of the testing dates so you could remind your child to get a good night's sleep and make it to school on time.
