Get Up Rebels and Yankees!!!!
The Union Soldiers had to be told to get up, what to eat, what they were to do, and when to go to sleep by a commanding officer, or officer of higher rank. Soldiers of both the Confederacy and the Union done this.
The Special Treatment
If the south found a slave soldier doing something they did not want they would beat them. The only thing that would make the Confederates not beat the slaves is if they executed them.
If any of the soldiers ,for either the Confederacy or the Union, were doing anything wrong their commanding officer would execute them after they got their choice of which preacher that traveled with them to talk to.The officer that would execute them would make all the soldiers watch as he shot them. That would make all the other soldiers behave.
