HOPE Packs Program
We are extremely fortunate to have a community resource called the H.O.P.E Packs Program. This free program provides bags of food for families on a weekly basis and is meant to be kid-friendly, easy to prepare and a supplemental food supply for families. The bags are sent home with your student every Friday, beginning September 9th.
If you feel your child could benefit from this free service, please contact our school counselor, Nikki Arnold at nikki_arnold@plsd.us

Media Center News from Mrs K!
It's that time of year again--fall, aka autumn, aka pumpkin season, aka Mrs. K's favorite time of the year! While September 22nd is the official first day of autumn, these cool mornings and nights have me thinking "fall", and we have so many exciting events happening this fall in the library!
Please check out
https://mrskinthelibrary-com.webnode.page/ for updates on what's happening in the library, to find information on upcoming events and to see pictures of our students enjoying our Media Center...and be sure to join the private group, "Mrs. K in the Library" on Facebook.
News Crew!!!
Our morning news program is up and running again! Fairfield's 4th graders have been working hard to deliver the news that matters most to our school. We stream our news daily around 9:25 and invite you to check it out here:

*If you miss the beginning, no worries! Our program is taped and can be aired at your convenience for 7 days.
Please ask your children what they are doing in the library as we continue to explore our MakerSpace area and activities!

Start with Hello
Our first school wide celebration will be Start with Hello! Start with Hello, is a program created as part of the Sandy Hook Promise that encourages students to be more socially inclusive and connected to others, to help prevent feelings of social isolation and situations that sometimes evolve as a result of children feeling disconnected from their peers.
During the week of September 19th-23rd (and EVERYDAY), we are encouraging staff and students to focus on greeting one another, including others in activities and discussions and remembering to listen when others speak. We will also be discussing different ways to say “hello” and challenging our students to be creative and come up with their own! Positive greetings are an important part of our students’ social emotional development so I encourage you to continue to foster this with your children as they meet new people at home and in our community.
