💙 WEEK 3 of #CelebrateDifferences will focus on FRIENDSHIP! 💙

“A friend is one of the nicest things you can have, and one of the best things you can be” - Winnie the Pooh

“You have been my friend...that in itself is a tremendous thing” - Charlotte’s Web by EB White

💙 🎉 THIS THURSDAY, 4/15 ALL STUDENTS are encouraged to ROCK YOUR SOCKS! 🧦🤟

Feel free to wear your craziest, funkiest, most colorful or mismatched socks to close out our #CelebrateDifferences campaign promoting ACCEPTANCE, INCLUSION and FRIENDSHIP

We would love for you to continue the conversation at home as a family. Here are some "Dinner Table Conversation Starters"

  • What qualities do you look for in a friend? Do you think you exhibit those qualities?

  • How can you extend friendship to someone who looks lonely at lunch or recess?

  • What are some good conversation starters when you meet someone new?

  • How can we be better friends to other people?

We also encourage you to read this short article “The Power of a Relationship” by Amanda Owen https://piecesofme.org/2019/05/17/how-a-friendship-with-someone-who-has-a-disability-can-impact-ones-health/

🚗 Hi Car Rider Parents,

Could you please help us out?

  • The speed limit on the campus is 5 mph.
  • Please be extra careful and slow on the north end of the campus where we are loading and unloading some of our students with special needs.
  • Could we squeeze just a little closer in the afternoon so that more cars can get on the campus, and we might not block Sorghum Mill.

~~ Thank you to everyone for pulling off to the side of the road on Sorghum mill road! That is so considerate & helpful!

- Principal Cathey Bugg
