Principal's Message
Dear Students and Families,
In honor of National School Volunteer Appreciation Week, thank you to the many parents, guardians, and extended family members who have volunteered at ISB this year. So many events could not happen without you and our school community benefits from your time, talents, creativity and generosity. Our school picnic, middle school socials, movie and speaker nights, AVID tutorials, Community Service Day, Culture Week, field trips, and rebranding work are a result of your dedication to ensuring ISB is a place where students, staff, and families thrive. We appreciate all you do!
As a result of a generous sponsorship by FRISB, last week Asst. Principal Gladney and I were able to surprise ISB's Class of 2020 by delivering yard signs to each of their homes. We're on track to have 100% of our Seniors graduate and look forward to celebrating their accomplishments and post-secondary plans over the next few weeks.
Wishing you health & balance this week,
Jill O'Neill, Principal
An Online Movie Screening of 'Screenagers NEXT CHAPTER'
ISB is excited to announce that the documentary "Screenagers NEXT CHAPTER: Uncovering Skills for Stress Resilience" will be available for home screening from April 20 to May 6, 2020. This documentary offers a scientific explanation of the emotional challenges of being a teen, the role technology plays, and how families (and schools) can support teens. Here is a link to a summary and the trailer of the documentary.
To screen the film in your home from April 20 to May 6 please register at the site: https://www.bigmarker.com/screenagers-starhouse/SCREENAGERS-NC-STREAM-ISB. This registration is free and will provide each household access to the documentary.
This link is for a limited number of screenings, so it is important to register ahead of time, watch when you have time to view all 63 minutes of the documentary, and view the documentary as a household.
Please see the following link for discussion questions and for further reading suggestions: https://bit.ly/ISBScreenagersNEXTCHAPTER.
Thank you to FRISB and BSD Future Ready for making this event possible.
ISB Schedule
Student Reminder
Students, please remember every weekday to check Canvas Announcements for each of your classes (including your grade level course) and your BSD email.
Student Help Desk is Available
For students needing help with the BSD student device or applications, IT has created a student help desk. Students can email the help desk at shd@beaverton.k12.or.us or call (503) 356-4656 for support. Please visit this link for more information.
Curbside Pick Up
Now that Oregon schools have been closed for the rest of the year, you're probably wondering "when can I pick up my stuff from school?"
Dates for pick up have not been set yet, but we are working on a plan for future curbside pick up days. Staff will gather all your belongings from all hall lockers and PE lockers, but we will need your help identifying any items that might be in classrooms. For example, a journal in your Language Arts classroom or an instrument in the band room, or artwork in your arts classroom.
Make a list for yourself and when you think you've remembered everything, please fill out this form for only those belongings that ARE NOT in your hall or PE lockers.
We'll include information about dates for future curbside pick up days in the weekly ISB Newsletter and in Canvas Announcements.
Yearbook Sales
Our Yearbook Staff are in the process of completing the 2019-20 Yearbook and are still accepting orders. Yearbooks will likely be delivered to the school in June and we will arrange a curbside pick up for those who have pre-ordered their yearbooks. You can order yours online for $45. Go to commpe.pictavo.com, find ISB and follow ordering instructions.
