A Message From Mr. Nerby
Hello SBHS Family and Friends,
Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday break. Now that we are back in school, it is a quick turn around time to the end of the semester! It is hard to believe but that marks the half way point of the 2022-2023 school year. Below is information on our semester exams.
Semester exams will be held on January 12 and 13. These grades will be calculated into GPA for all students. It is important that students are ready and prepared for their semester exams. That Thursday and Friday will also be early release days for students after their exams each day.
Thursday, January 12
- Block 1 & 2 Exams
- Exams end at 11:45am
- Buses depart and regular end of day time
Friday, January 13
- Block 3 & 4 Exams
- Exams end at 11:45am
- Buses depart at noon
Not long after the start of the second semester, we will begin planning for the following school year. Our scheduling process for the 2023-2024 school year will be starting at the end of January. In this newsletter is a link to our updated Course Guide for our students and families. Please take the time to look through the guide as it is will share all of the course options along with other valuable information and frequently asked questions about scheduling, courses, graduation requirements, and so much more.
Students will have several weeks to schedule in their Homerooms for their course requests for next school year. It is critical that our students and families take time scheduling as we build our entire schedule around what students request. This means that we are unable to change course requests after the end of this school year. So please, take the time to select classes carefully.
And finally, it is obvious that the weather has started to turn and we are now full swing into our winter months. As such, I want to remind our families and students about the importance of being prepared for the cold and snow. For students who drive, please remind them to leave in plenty of time to take into account for snow covered or slick roads. For students that wait for the bus or walk to school, please remind them to bundle up and dress appropriately. We want to ensure everyone arrives and stays safe for school each morning and afternoon.
As always, please reach out with any questions.
All my best,
Keith Nerby
Principal
