AIG Screening Update May 1, 2020

Update to the Screening Process for the 2019-2020 School Year

School closures due to COVID-19 have caused some changes to the screening and identification process. The Chatham County Schools Needs Determination Team will meet virtually on May 7 to start reviewing artifacts collected during the screening process. Throughout May, the team will meet virtually to review the placement recommendations. The process should conclude before the end of May.

Students will receive formal notification from the district at the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year regarding placement decisions.

Students who did not finish the screening before schools closed will complete the process once we reopen for students. A special Needs Determination Team will convene to review data for these students once they finish with the screening.

This plan may change as new information becomes available.

If you have questions, please email Michael Triplett (MTriplett@Chatham.k12.nc.us).
