Men painted their hair red before going into battle. They also painted their faces blue, white, yellow and black. They did this because it represented their tribe, peace, and luck.

Dwelling

The Cheyenne people lived in lodges called earth lodges when they were living in Minnesota. When they moved to the Great Plains they began living in tepees. They began living in tepees so that they could move around more without trying to carry it so many times.

Food

The main food the Cheyenne ate was the buffalo. The buffalo meat was the first thing they would look for to eat. They also ate deer, elk, antelope, and many other meats and stuff like fruits and vegetables.

Transportation

The Cheyenne traveled in three different ways at different times of the day or time in life. In the 1770s the Cheyenne got horses. Horses changed their lives.

Geography

The Cheyenne lived in the Great Plains. The Great Plains only have trees by rivers and streams. The rivers and streams came from the Rocky Mountains.
