Food Drive Thank You

The Bell-Graham Wellness Council sponsored a Thanksgiving Food Drive to support the

Northern Illinois Food Bank.

The Drive asked each student and teacher to bring in one dollar and a can of vegetables.

The Wellness Council collected $590 and 216 cans of food.

The money will go to provide Thanksgiving dinners for needy families.

According to the Food Bank, every dollar donated will buy eight dollars worth of groceries. So, Bobcat donations will provide $4720.00 worth of food, or 157 meal boxes.

Thanks to the generosity of our students and their families, many needy families will have a happy Thanksgiving dinner.

E-Learning Plan and Emergency Days

The School Board has approved an E-Learning plan that gives the district the option to offer remote learning in place of emergency days. Currently, our last day of school is Tuesday, May 24, which is the week before Memorial Day.

  • If we experience inclement weather, the first three days will be “snow days” that will be made up at the end of the school year on May 25, 26, and 27 as needed.

  • Subsequent emergency days will be remote days so the last attendance day will still be before Memorial Day.

  • If there is a long stretch of inclement weather (blizzard, polar vortex, etc.), we may split the days into “snow days” and e-learning days so as to not have too many non-attendance days in a row.

SHIELD Testing

If you'd like to register your unvaccinated child to participate in the free weekly testing, click here. Testing is one method for identifying cases and preventing the spread of COVID-19.

If you changed your mind about your initial response to SHIELD testing, you can go back to the portal and update your response.

BG Parent Volunteers

All volunteers, new and “old,” will be asked to complete the Volunteer Form prior to coming in to volunteer for the first time this school year. Once we have it on file you will not need to complete it again this year.

Volunteers simply need to complete the Volunteer Form.

Just like in previous years, volunteers will need to have their license with them for us to scan into our Raptor System. In addition now, you will need to show proof of vaccination or proof of a negative Covid-19 test within 72hrs. Digital or paper proof is fine. We will NOT retain a paper copy of your vaccination or negative Covid tests here at the building. Therefore, please be prepared to show proof each day you volunteer.

All volunteers will be required to adhere to the safety mitigations schools are following. Volunteers will need to remain 3’ from students and to wear a mask for their entire time in the building.

Picking up your child early?

Please call the office when you are 5 minutes away and we will have your child ready and waiting for you at the office. You will have to press the buzzer to come inside the vestibule to sign them out. 331-228-2100
