MCCHS FRIDAY FOCUS

20th Edition: February 10, 2017

Pilgrims on the Way of Truth

From the Interim Superintendent:

The company doing our superintendent search, Gonser Gerber, informed us this week that it has a solid handful of candidates that it will be reaching out to in the coming week or two, to start the process of vetting. When it has completed that initial contact, those resumes will be given to the Council of Administration's Executive Committee for review. Each week, we take another step toward finding our new school leader!

From the Spiritual Director:

I would like to laud all of our winter teams not only on their athletic success this past season, but also on their spiritual success. All of our winter sports teams--and several of our clubs--attended team Masses these past two months. I want to thank all of the coaches who made a commitment to making Mass part of their team preparation and formation, as well as all of the students who have attended.

The Pajama Game tickets ON SALE NOW!

In the fast-paced times of 1954, the only things that the workers at Sleep Tite Pajama factory in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, want are fair working conditions and their 7 ½ cent raise! Come see Marian Central Catholic High School’s rendition of The Pajama Game, including classic songs “Hernando’s Hideaway,” “Steam Heat,” and “Hey There.” Watch as Babe, the head of the workers’ grievance committee, falls for Sid, their new superintendent; Hines, the time-steady man, pines for Gladys, a secretary at the factory; and the workers fight for a pay raise. Join us for fun, comedy, and lots of singing and dancing!

Car Safety Reminder from Our Local Authorities

In the past few months, you may have seen local reports throughout McHenry County of increased burglaries to motor vehicles. Although we have not experienced such crimes in our own parking lot, please help keep our students aware of the importance of locking their vehicles while parked anywhere (or even pumping gas, as social media reports have indicated) and making sure items of value are not visible from the exterior of the vehicle, including GPS devices and cell phone power cords as these are signals to criminals that valuables may be left inside. We have recently installed three external security cameras to help insure that our students and facilities are as monitored as possible.
