BARBER BULLETIN
June 4-8 Creating Joyful Leaders and Learners
Last Week of School: Here's a few reminders to ensure a smooth week
- Please take any items from workroom spaces including items in refridgerator as these will be cleaned out on Friday morning.
- Report cards should be distributed on Thursday to students. Please send report cards of any students NOT at school to Erika Heitman. Do not send any other items for these students to the office (ex; portfolios, work samples, etc.)
- Thank you to everyone for assisting at dismissal either at car riders or buses on Wednesday and Thursday.
- LAPs should be updated and include final work samples by Wednesday afternoon
- No movies are permitted this week, per district guidelines for EOY procedures
- Please ensure your website is updated to reflect summer office hours. Mrs. Turner can assist you with this information.
- If you are putting trash in the hallways for custodians to pick up, please ensure it is labeled. Please remember to breakdown cardboard before putting this out in the hallway. This helps with our recycling efforts.
- Let admin know if you have any needs in the days ahead
- Embrace and enJOY each moment! These days are quite demanding but so rewarding!
EnJOY sweet tea just for YOU!
In celebration of teachers, Dr. Davis received gift cards for each of our district teachers as part of a partnership between Bojangles' and SC Future Minds. Just like last year each card provides the card holder a free 22 oz. iced tea with a purchase at participating Bojangles restaurants in the Midlands. You need only to present the card.
Additionally, SC Future Minds would like to remind you that you can visit www.scfutureminds.orguntil July 31st to nominate a "Teacher Hero." Bojangles will also begin an in-store fundraising campaign on August 30th in support of the My First Library Program. Customers will be able to purchase $1 paperback books in honor of a teacher who has made a difference in their life. Books are then provided for next year's summer reading programs.
You will receive your Bojangles Free Iced Tea cards in the coming days.
SC State Museum
The South Carolina State Museum's Boeing Observatory is hosting 8 FREE teacher workshops during the summer of 2018. Teachers will learn about standards-based astronomy classroom activities and astronomy teaching resources. Dinner will be provided and teachers will receive a certificate upon completion of the workshop.
The museum is partnering with SC State Park Services as host sites for 5 off-site workshops. These 5 workshops will be held in different regions of the state to reduce teacher travel time. The museum is also hosting 3 on-site workshops located at the South Carolina State Museum in Columbia. Both on-site and off-site workshop details are attached to this email or you can visithttp://scmuseum.org/education/professional-development/ for more information.
