The Rules of the Game
Official abbreviated version of the rules printed in NADA
Things to Know
Field: The game will be played in the gymnasium. The gym floor will be divided into two equal sections by a center-line and attack-line parallel to the centerline.
Equipment: Both playing teams and its members will wear pinnies and a rubber-coated ball will be used to play the game.
The Game: The object of the game is to eliminate all opposing players by getting them "OUT." This may be done by: 1. Hitting an opposing player with a LIVE ball below the shoulders. (no hitting in the face) 2. Catching a LIVE ball thrown by your opponent before it touches the ground, in which case a member that has been out can re-enter the game. After both playing teams have lined up in appropriate lines, the official will signal and team members can approach the centerline to retrieve the balls. Once a ball is retrieved it must be taken behind the attack-line before it can be thrown. The first team to eliminate all opposing players will be declared the winner!
Boundaries: During the game, all players must remain within the boundary lines. Players may leave the boundaries through their end-line only to retrieve stray balls and must return through the end-line.
Time-Outs: Each team will be allowed a 30-second timeout per game.
