Help us with Attendance
Please call the Office at 317-915-4270, or email azjones@hse.k12.in.us, or update School Dismissal Manager, if your student will be:
- Absent from school.
- Arriving late to school.
- Leaving early from school.
- Leaving for an appointment and returning after.
- Leaving for an appointment and not returning after.
Office Staff will meet late students at the door with a late pass.
You no longer need to sign students in when they're late, but please walk them to the door.
Students who are leaving early must be signed out by their adult. ID is required.

Social Emotional Learning Lesson Week 1

- Summary: In this week’s lesson, your child will learn the learning rules for how to be a good listener. These rules help your child know how to listen and act in a group so that everyone can learn.
- Try This at Home: Ask your child to tell you each rule and show you the action that goes with it (eyes watching, ears listening, voice quiet, and body still). Consider reminding your child to use the listening rules before giving directions for daily activities.
First Grade: Listening to Learn
- Summary: In this week’s lesson, your child will learn the rules for how to be a good listener.

Fourth Grade: Empathy and Respect
- Summary: In this week’s lesson, your child’s learned the definitions of empathy and respect. We discussed how these two skills help us get along with others.
- Try This at Home: Ask your child to share with you a time that they showed empathy or respect to another person. You may need to provide an example yourself first.
