10,000 Pencils Service Learning Experience - June 1st
Dear Carman Families:
We are pleased to be hosting a Day of Service at Carman Trails. Similar to last year, we are hosting an opportunity for families to donate any new or used school supplies on the last full day of school to 10,000 Pencils, a local non-profit organization that helps communities who would normally not have school supplies.
On June 1st, students will sort, bag, and box the supplies for pick up. The easiest way for students to participate is to donate their end-of-year school supplies. We hope you will consider allowing your child to donate their supplies.
Here is a little information about 10,000 Pencils. In addition, you can watch this short video clip about the great work that has happened due to the generosity of students in our surrounding communities.
Here are the documents that will be sent to families to explain how to get involved. Below you will find a flyer and permission slip for families to access.
We are excited to be able to host this Service Learning Experience -- our Carman Trails families are always so very generous!
Thank you for your help and support,
Allison Love
AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM NURSE CONNELLY
Dear Carman Parents/Guardians -
School Health Services protocol requires that all medication housed in the school health office must be picked up by parents or guardians on or before the last day of school, June 2nd. In order to ensure the safe return of medication to parents, no medication will be sent home with students in backpacks on the bus/school transportation. Please fill out the form below to schedule a pickup time for the medication.
If your student will be attending summer school, please indicate on the form if you would like the medication transferred to the summer school location or if the medication will be picked up from school. All medication authorization forms and action plans from the 21-22 school year can be used for summer school.

PARKWAY NEEDS BUS DRIVERS!
Meal changes coming soon
Parents,
Since the start of the pandemic in 2020, Parkway has provided free meals for all students through funding provided by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, which was extended multiple times by Congress.
That funding is now set to expire, which means free meals will no longer be available to all Parkway students once the current school year ends.
Students who may be eligible for free/reduced meals may apply for school year 2022-2023 starting July 1, 2022. Paper applications will be available through the Parkway Welcome Center office or your building secretary. However, we encourage you to apply online at https://s.smore.com/e/2dcy1/_Lh0kV
