Indoor State Track and Field Highlights
Patrick Adcock won the AHSAA 6A Indoor Track and Field Shot Put State Championship with a personal best throw of 49-6.5.
Patrick competed extremely well starting the competition off with a solid mark over 45 feet. He stayed locked in and focused throughout the ups and downs of the competition. He threw a personal best throw on his third attempt and did not allow himself to relax or get satisfied. He went into finals with the top three throws in the competition and kept striving for improvement within each attempt. His fourth and fifth attempts did not advance him, but his sixth and final attempt of the competition was his best. This is Patrick's third championship for Cullman High School. Last year as a Sophomore he won the 2022 Outdoor 6A Section 4 Championship for the Discus throw as well as the 2022 Outdoor 6A State Championship for the Discus throw.
The Girl's 4x800 relay of Ann Marie Land, Lauren Cherry, Khloe Nalley, and Mabry Free ran 10:52.8 and finished 8th among the Top 16 that made it to State.
The Boy's 4x800 relay of Lane Hopper, David Manashirov, William Nichols, and Andrue Barnett ran 8:41.24 and finished 9th among the Top 16 that made it to State.
Both relays made lots of improvement through the season and are excited for the opportunities ahead in the Outdoor season.
