As I prepare for my entire immediate family to fly in from California and New York to spend our first Asheville Christmas with us, I am filled with joy and anticipation! I am also filled with gratitude for my amazing fifth-grade family of teachers and students alike, truly my favorite people in Asheville! To all who have shown me kindness, friendship, and support in what has been a challenging transition into my sixteenth year of teaching . . . in a new state, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I may have left that heart in San Francisco, but I am working on building a home in Asheville. After all, they say home is where the heart is!
From my family to yours, we wish you holidays so merry and bright that your new year continues to shine with goodness and light! May we all enjoy a well-deserved and much-needed Winter Break!
P.S. If you have any recommendations for fun family activities for a Zunguze clan of ten people between the ages of one and sixty-two, please send them my way! My phone number is 510-333-9418 (in case you'd like to text or call), and my home e-mail is firstname.lastname@example.org because I don't plan to check work e-mail until next year!
