Ag to Cafeteria
The 8th graders blind taste tested 5 types of "milk" which includes real milk, coconut "milk", almond "milk", oat "milk" and soy "milk". They then reviewed the nutrition content of these beverages, and also deciphered the label claims. Students are learning to compare food production styles and practices which includes non-GMO, organic, cage-free, pasture raised, local, sustainable, etc. They are also finding the truth (or lack thereof) of these claims and what it means from a consumer perspective.
