Cracker Trail Elementary Newsletter
March 2023
From the Principal
Dear Mustang Families,
Spring is approaching and learning is in full swing here at Cracker Trail Elementary. As you may know, this is a time of year that students make the most academic and social learning gains. We appreciate your support as you make school a priority. There are many changes on the horizon including daylight savings, Spring Break, and the Florida heat is ramping up! It can be challenging to keep learning as a focus. What can you do to make school a top priority for your child? Keep these ideas in mind:
- Make attendance your number one priority. Let your child know that unless they are sick, they must attend school (and be on time.) Make an effort to schedule appointments after school hours.
- Show you care. Talk about school activities and projects. Make an effort to attend as many school events as you can.
- Remain positive. Try to set a positive example for your child, even when your own day has been challenging. If you show a positive attitude about your work, your child may feel better about their own.
While second graders scores were not included in our school grade from 2021-2022, our second grade team sets an important foundation for our Mustangs. This year our 2nd grade students have grown academically. Our percentage of students at or above proficiency in the STAR Reading Test have both grown since the beginning of the year!! We appreciate the time and effort our 2nd grade teachers, students, and caregivers are giving to become lifelong learners.
CTE’s Science Fair/Art Night was a great success! CTE 5th grade students’ science projects and boards were amazing!! We hoped all of our students enjoyed seeing the artwork highlighted in Mrs. Sebring’s A-Maze-ing Art Walk. A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped pull this great event together.
Sincerely,
Mr. K.
