IMPORTANT Student Teachnology Acceptable Use Policy UPDATE!!
TAUP
Starting on Monday when students access BCPS One they will have to acknowledge the TAUP (Technology Acceptable Use Policy) for Students. This is a good time to talk to students about proper care of the devices. Physical vandalism should obviously be addressed. Deliberate removal of keys from they keyboard or peeling off the USN stickers fall under this and Daly is going to stop replacing/repairing these items without a charge to BCPS soon. This has been a HOT TOPIC item with BCPS this year! Don’t forget about “digital vandalism”. This is when students install programs on their devices that allow them to bypass the filters. This is not allowed. Students should be told that they are not to download ANYTHING onto their BCPS issued device.
The Responsive Classroom: Why is Everyone So Nice Here?
Restorative Practices and Relationship Building Resources
"If you knew that developing a positive relationship with a child was at the heart of what would help them be successful in school and in life, would you invest the time? Would you be willing to give up the “love of power” for the “power of love” if it helped you to create a more caring classroom community? Finally, would you be open to the possibility that by changing your mindset you could ultimately change the outcomes for your students? If you said, “yes” to these questions, then you are on your way to becoming a restorative practitioner. Keep reading to explore these three fundamental ideas for creating a restorative model of classroom management."

Discovery Education...Spotlight on Strategies
Who knew Discovery Education (DE) was more than BoardBuilder and videos? Did you know there is a PD section with practical instructional strategies that can be used in any content area and most every grade in our school? I recently had a chance to view these strategies. Check out the S.O.S. (Spotlight On Strategies) section of Discovery Ed!
Each strategy has a one or two page PDF page with directions for implementing the strategy. And even better, there are short videos explaining the strategies.
- BCPS One
- Select "Digital Content"
- Select "Discovery Education"
- Come back to https://teachers.discoveryeducation.com/ and open to Discovery Education's Spotlight on Strategies
Let's Talk About Math...
Are you Familiar With This Resources?
It is completely free and offers an excellent library of videos presenting complex math topics in a way that is easy to comprehend. There are also practice questions that can be used in conjunction with the videos. Think about flipped learning or extra practice. You can seach by grade level.
