Banner's School Improvement Plan
1. By the Spring of 2018, Banner Elementary School will develop a culture of readers as shown by increasing the STAR SGP (Student Growth Percentile) to 66 and incorporating several supportive activities.
- Note: Expected SGP is a score between 35 and 65
2. By the Spring of 2018, Banner Elementary School will develop a culture of mathematicians as shown by increasing the STAR SGP (Student Growth Percentile) to 66 and incorporating several supportive activities.
- Note: Expected SGP is a score between 35 and 65
3. Banner Elementary staff will provide a challenging, supportive, and positive learning environment as shown by improving the SES (Social Emotional Safety) score to 30% or below on the CSCI survey and by incorporating supportive practices.
- This goal is related to the Climate Survey that PARENTS, STAFF, AND STUDENTS complete in October. The goal number was created as a response to last year's survey where we found a few areas to improve in. Overall, however, we were very pleased with our school results from October of 2016.
DHS Smart Cookie Sales!
The Dunlap High School Life Skills class will once again be coming to schools to sell fresh cookies. There is one cookie in a bag and it sells for $.50. The cookies come in chocolate chip and M&M. This program at DHS teaches the students the skills they will need to live as independently as possible and be contributing members of their communities. The cookie business provides an opportunity to practice both vocational and social skills in a real life setting. The proceeds from the sales go towards buying groceries to use for weekly cooking lessons and allow us to go to different places to learn how to navigate and access the community.
Cookies for Sale at Banner on Friday, October 6th at 1:30. Cost will be $.50 for 1 large cookie, chocolate chip or M&M.
District Assessments - STAR
As part of our School Improvement Plan, we also are going to assess students (via STAR) TWO additional times, one of which will be just prior to Parent-Teacher Conferences in October.
Volunteering! We need you, but....
If you would like to volunteer with field trips, library, classroom parties in the Dunlap schools, etc..., you will need to complete the online application on the Dunlap District website. After completing, the District Office will contact you regarding fingerprinting. Please let the Banner office know that you have started the process. We suggest you start this as soon as possible as it does take some time to process everything. You must be approved before you can take part in an activity. Please call our office if you have any questions!
