November 2018
We value YOU!
Daylight Saving Time Ends
Please vote November 6, 2018!
The November 6th election will decide who will be elected to fill many local, state, and national positions, as well as the fate of proposed amendments and referendums.
A General Obligation (G.O.) bond referendum is on the ballot. Gwinnett County Board of Education is asking voters to approve this referendum to sell up to $350 million in G.O. bonds. This will fund capital improvements for schools throughout the county (including a new HS in the Mill Creek cluster).
Here are things you need to know:
-No tax increase will be needed if the bond referendum passes.
-The projects funded by the G.O. bonds would benefit every cluster, every school.
-The bond issue question is long...and is the last item on the ballot.

2018 Run for Tajay and Taste of Mill Creek
The Mill Creek Cross Country and Soccer Programs are once again jointly hosting the Run for Tajay this year. The Run will be Saturday, December 15th. All of the net proceeds will be used to provide two graduating seniors from each program a scholarship in Tajay Hoppines' name. Tajay was a 2012 Mill Creek student-athlete graduate. He was a leader on both the cross country and soccer teams, was the true definition of a team player and had a positive attitude no matter the circumstances. Unfortunately, while on a training run with the Valdosta State cross country team in 2012, he tragically drowned. We created the Tajay Hoppines Memorial Scholarship in 2014 to remember how he positively impacted those around him.
The Run for Tajay and the Taste of Mill Creek are on the same day. We will host the Run first and provide all runners with a ticket to the Taste of Mill Creek. For the first time this year, we have added a 1 Mile Fun Run to the 5K Trail Run with the hopes of reaching out to future Mill Creek Hawks.
