January 2015 Monthly Report
LMS Library Mission Statement
The mission of the LMS Library is to foster a learning community that encourages students to love reading and creates lifelong learners, who are effective and ethical users of information and resources.
What Happened in January...
- We had 28 classes visit- Mr. Pruitt, Mr. Calhoun, Mrs. Walker, and Mrs. Lewis came in to check out books. Mrs. Richey's class came in for a lesson on story elements using fractured fairy tales.
- We had 901 books checked out, 20 books placed on hold, and 371 visits outside of class visits.
- We are excited to announce that we received a $500 donation from Publix Super Markets, Inc. to purchase books for the library!
- We also had two books added to our collection about guitar and violin. These books were donated by Publix Super Markets, Inc. in honor of Salome Martinez.

February 19th will be our Junior Book Award Voting Celebration
We are excited to announce that we have 11 students that completed their 3 Junior Book Award Book Blog posts! On February 19th we will host these students in the library and they will get to enjoy a delicious Firehouse lunch, giveaways, and vote for their choice for the South Carolina Junior Book Award Winner. New Carts are up and rolling!
Thanks to Dr. Williams and Andi Bruss we were able to make a great team effort and get all 7th grade teachers' carts cleaned up and filled with new Windows 8 machines within one week! Thank you to all the teachers for working with us on that swap out!
