At Simmons Elementary School, We're Better Together
Halloween Festivities - TOMoRROW
On Thursday, October 31, Simmons Elementary School students will be having Halloween activities and parties in their classrooms.
As I have communicated in our weekly newsletters since September, only adults with Hatboro-Horsham School District volunteer credentials will be admitted to the school for the Halloween parties. All adult visitors must wear the photo i.d. issued with the volunteer credentials. In the interest of everyone’s safety, no exceptions will be made to this policy.
Timeline for Halloween Parties
2 p.m. Preschool Parade in the gym, followed by parties
2:15 p.m. Kindergarten and Grade 1 Parade in the gym, followed by parties
2:30 p.m. Grades 2, 3, 4 and 5 class parties
Preschool, kindergarten, and Grade 1 families will be admitted through the exterior gym door. Adults may view the parade from the bleachers in the gym. No adults will be permitted to enter the school building following the parade unless they have their volunteer clearances.
Grades 2, 3, 4, and 5 families will be admitted through the lobby entrance.
Room parents who are setting up for the party will be allowed to go to the classrooms 15 minutes prior to the start of the party. All other visitors will be allowed in at the start time listed above.
Parking
The parking lot gets very crowded on party days. Please allow extra time to park safely in a legal spot. No cars may park in the school driveways as that will block the entrances for school buses.
Costumes
Please remember that all costumes need to be appropriate for an elementary school setting. No face paint, hair dye or weapons should be brought to school as part of a costume. Thank you for helping us make this event fun and safe for everyone.
Dismissal
If you are taking your child home after the classroom party, please sign out in the classroom. If your child normally goes to aftercare, please email Jackie Barnhart so that the aftercare staff is aware of the change in routine.

Join the HHEF for an exciting evening event open to children ages 5-12! On Monday, November 25 at 6pm, students and teachers from Hatboro-Horsham High School's Manufacturing Lab will host an opportunity for kids to tour their lab and see its amazing machinery, to watch the high school students craft a winter-inspired ornament, and for the kids to paint one of the ornaments while enjoying snacks and sips! The HHEF has invested over $25,000 to integrate the latest engineering and manufacturing equipment into the Lab, and we hope the children will be inspired by the incredible opportunities awaiting them in their high school years. This is also a fantastic opportunity for kids to make the perfect, personalized holiday gift for a special person in his or her life. Registration is $15.
