NTZB Parent Bulletin
November 3, 2023
Hello New Tech Families,
November brings a busy time of year for our students, staff, and families! Students continue to push toward the semester finish line, deep in their coursework and parents continue to navigate the many facets of high school with their child. Rather than become overwhelmed with relentless pressures, may I suggest we all take time to slow down and reflect on the positive aspects of life and things that cause us to be thankful. I am thankful that every day I have the opportunity to spend my time at New Tech with awesome students and staff and I am inspired when I see our school community working together to create positive learning opportunities for all. I am thankful for the support of our amazing parents who continue to reach out with questions, suggestions, and support.
As a reminder, regular daily attendance at school is critical to your child’s success in high school. Did you know, that being absent from school 2 or more days a month can significantly affect your child’s chances of graduating high school? Please make sure you get your student to school every day and continue to communicate with your children about their grades and possible academic needs.
Currently, there are many things happening in our school and district which are highlighted on this bulletin. As a reminder, we continue to offer after school tutoring until 3:25 available to ALL students every day except Thursdays. I am looking forward to a strong finish first semester for every student. As always, I look forward to creating more great days for our students, families, and staff.
On a personal note, I hope all will have the opportunity to connect and unwind over the upcoming school break and wish all a safe, restful, and enjoyable Thanksgiving holiday!
In partnership,
Bonnie Felske

Gratitude is for every month -- not just November!
Researchers have found that feelings of thankfulness can help improve sleep, diminish fatigue, increase confidence and even lessen depression. Developing resiliency habits leads to a "happy brain" and builds skills to endure hardship. View the video and article published by Mayo Clinic Staff. When you're done, spend some time with your family naming five things for which you are grateful today!
Questions, issues, or concerns? Please reach out to our Social Worker, Mrs. Ondo at robyn.ondo@zb126.org or (847) 731-9805.
