Student Google Accounts for Summer
IMPORTANT: Status of D41 Student Google Accounts over Summer 2020
Dear Families, (clic para español)
Please read this important information for all of our 2019-20 Kindergarten through 8th grade students regarding their District 41 Google accounts.
Kindergarten through 7th Graders
Student accounts will remain active, and students will have access to Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Classroom. Teachers can put an out-of-office reply on their email so that families know that teachers will not be responding to emails throughout the summer.
For students who are not involved in a summer program, we will turn off Google Meet and Google Calendar.
Whether Google Classroom classes remain open for the summer will be up to the individual teachers. Instructions for archiving Google Classroom classes will be sent to teachers on the last day of school. Any remaining active Classroom classes will be archived in early August before the 2020-21 classes are created.
8th Graders
On June 4, we will send the graduating 8th graders and their parents instructions for how to remove their Chromebooks from the District 41 network, so that they can sign into them with regular gmail accounts.
At 8:00 AM on Monday, June 22, 2020, the District 41 Technology Department will deactivate the Google accounts assigned to the graduating 8th graders. Starting June 22, these students will no longer have access to Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, or any other Google applications using their d41 account logins.
Thank you,
